CONCEPT

Based on the same principle as coronary stents, a large stent was developed with central leaflets mimicking an aortic valve once deployed (photo 2).

These aortic stents are adapted to the size of each individual patient. The device is inserted in the femoral artery and then advanced up to the native aortic valve. The central baloon is subsequently inflated (photo 3) which allows the deployment of the percutaneous valve inside the native valve
