PRESENTATION OF THE ICPS

DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY

The Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier has a medico-surgical pediatric cardiology facility where congenital pathologies are treated in children as well as in adults.

The antenatal and paediatric cardiology unit and the paediatric cardiac surgery department are located on the 2nd floor.

Mothers of children admitted to this unit can be accommodated with their child in individual rooms. All rooms are equipped with a TV set, a telephone line (outside calls may be received from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.) All requests for a private telephone line must be placed with the admissions department. Each room has its own private toilet and shower.

Entertainment :
A recreational room and a library are available.
Various activities are organised for hospitalized children including:

• a monthly drawing contest
• a quarterly poetry contest

Meals :
A ‘living area’ with cooking facilities (fridge and microwave oven) is available for parents.
The cafeteria on the ground floor is open from 12h noon to 6:00 pm every day.

Visits :
Visiting hours are from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm except in the resuscitation unit, and from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for parents not staying with their children.
Children under the age 15 are not allowed in the patients’ rooms.
