DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE

You will be asked to lie down in a large tube equipped with the magnet which generates the images. This examination is very noisy and you will wear a helmet which will allow you to hear us. You will be able to speak with us by pressing a small device which you will have in your hand. During the procedure, you will be injected with an innocuous colouring product called gadolinium. This product creates contrast between the various images allowing detailed analysis of certain segments.
You will be monitored throughout the duration of the MRI test.

If you undergo a stress MRI, you will be injected with an agent which will accelerate your cardiac rhythm (persantine) and mimic physical exertion.
You will experience a sensation of heat, as after climbing a flight of stairs.
