MRI
IN WHICH CASES IS MRI CONTRA-INDICATED ?
Any metallic object is likely to create problems within the magnetic field.
Contraindications are as follows :
- pace-makers
- previous metallic chips (intra-ocular)
- body jewellery (they must be removed prior to the examination)
- certain cardiac valves previously implanted
Coronary stents do not constitute a contra-indication to MRI.
