PRESENTATION OF THE ICPS

THE INSTITUTIONS

The ICPS started its activity in January 1995 in 3 hospitals belonging to the Générale de Santé group :  The Clinique du Bois de Verrières in Antony, the Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier in Massy and the  Hôpital Privé Claude Galien in Quincy

In 2002, the  clinique du Bois de Verrieres’s interventional cardiology activity was transferred to Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier, thus creating a reference center which has gradually acquired international renown.

The ICPS has set up a state-of-the-art technical environment in two centers where emergency cases are admitted on a 24 h basis every day of the year.

INSTITUT HOSPITALIER JACQUES CARTIER - MASSY

The IJHC has open-heart surgery facilities for adults and children. It is also equipped with a hybrid room (the first of its kind in France) where complex interventions combining cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology are carried out.

In 2000, the first digital catheterization laboratory was validated by our teams. This new technology has led to a reduction in X-ray exposure with enhanced imaging quality. All three cath-labs are now digitalized.

Cardiac MRI has been available since 2002 and a new MRI facility, dedicated solely to cardio-vascular diagnostic procedures, has been operational since December 2008.  This latest-generation MRI equipment is wider and shorter than currently used machines and reduces the feeling of claustrophobia reported by certain patients. It can also accommodate heavy patients, which was not possible with first-generation equipment.

HOPITAL CLAUDE GALIEN - QUINCY

The Hôpital Claude Galien located in Quincy-sous-Sénart opened its angiography facilities in November 1995.

In October 2003 an intensive cardiac care unit became available and the department was renovated with two latest-technology catheterization laboratories which have been operational since January 2005.

An ultramodern cardiac MRI facility has been available since August 2004.
